Date Details
Almost every kitchen had a rolling pin of some sort either made from wood, aluminum, glass, ceramic, marble or stone. According to 300 Years of Kitchen Collectibles (Franklin 274), one of the most common types of rolling pins in the nineteenth century and twentieth centuries were the wooden and glass pins. Because they were so popular and cover such a wide spectrum in years, it is difficult to isolate a specific date of their use without any markings or brand names. However, it is safe to say that this wooden rolling pin was factory made with attached revolving handles that were not produced until the latter half of the 19th century. Hence, all that can be said about this rolling pin is that it could have been utilized anytime from the mid 19th century into the twentieth.
