This volume contains culinary, medical, and household recipes written from both the front and back of the notebook. James Fulham's name, address, and occupation are written on the inside front cover. White's Hull Directory for 1840 lists the author as a chemist at Myton Place, in Hull. The library has accordingly dated the book to the 1840s.
