ca. 1843-ca. 1859Description
This volume of 48 leaves was written primarily in pencil, apparently mostly in the hand of William B. Dunning, whose name and address, 283 South 6th St., New York, appear on the front endleaf. The date 1843 also appears on the front endleaf; the date 1859 is found in the text. The book contains many recipes for cakes and desserts, one for chowder, and a few for wine and vinegar. There are also some medical and household recipes. A number of recipes are attributed to individuals, including several members of the Bowen family.
